Step Out Of Winter And Into Spring Colors!

Underwear It’s spring and even if the weather hasn’t yet begun to cooperate, it’s time to start thinking about bright colors and prints in your wardrobe again. Even if you keep the gray, brown and dark denim on the outside, at least wear something bright underneath to remind yourself that there is better weather on the way. A pair of bright yellow or pink underwear are exactly what any guy needs to start imagining the warm sun and beaches that will become a reality in just a couple months.

"ThinkGeek" Video Watches

Tell time, listen to music and watch your favorite movie right from your wrist.

Thinkgeek.com_oled_video_watch Video Watch with OLED Screen

For a wristwatch to be considered truly geeky it should have one of two things - the ability to play audio and video or some kind of communication functionality (like a built-in cell phone). Well, you can definitely put a big bold check mark in the "yes" column for the Video Watch with OLED Screen. With a full color screen this watch displays video and images very nicely with a 128x128 pixel resolution. The OLED screen is crisp and bright and the watch itself is surprisingly well proportioned (not thick or bulky).

The phone from Mother Earth

Hearing "eco-friendly technology" can bring up images of butt-ugly cars or underpowered computers. I mean, the sacrifice has to come from somewhere, right?

Phone_mother_earth_a That said, the MOTO Renew is the first phone to actually worth considering. And, believe it or not, it is made out of 100% recycled materials.

MOTO Renew is definitely retro, reminiscent of earlier Motorola or Nokia phones, down to the basic screen and low-grade multimedia capabilities. (No fancy MP3 player on this one!) The green and black shell isn't exactly noteworthy, either. The positives? It has a nice, long battery life, giving nine hours active use - compared to as little as two hours on fancier phones - and the phone itself is created from recycled plastic bottles and other reused materials. And no, you can't tell.

The MOTO Renew is available now for a cheap $59.99. And better yet, T-Mobile is offering a limited-time $50 instant discount, making the phone a cool $9.99.

How An iPod Can Be A Poor Man's iPhone

Poor_mans_iphone I try to keep a stiff upper lip about not having an iPhone. Just couldn't afford it -- not with the $75 a month or so AT&T charges for service on top of the $199 upfront cost for the device.

I could, however, afford the $229 iPod Touch, and got it as a gift, as it happened. It has most of the same goodies: a Web browser, e-mail, YouTube. And it stores way more music than the iPhone. (Ha!)

Plus, the other day I used it to call China.

Hot Damn

220 If you slept on Grand Theft Auto IV last year, you're one of the few. Released in March, the awesome action-adventure sold almost 6 million copies in its first week.

Now would definitely be the time to get on board. On Tuesday Rockstar Games released a new expansion pack to GTA IV. In other words, you pay a little extra change, download the new content and have a brand new adventure.

It is called Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and the Damned. And, unlike the original game, it's only on XBox 360.

"Mamma Mia" on DVD

Mamma Mia You were probably as bewildered as the rest of us when you heard that Meryl Streep -- whose astounding career has garnered her two Academy Awards and a whopping 14 nominations to date -- had signed on as the lead in the film version of the unapologetically fluffy and frivolous ABBA-packed stage musical "Mamma Mia."

Don't Miss "Sweeney" on DVD

Sweeny Todd No matter how much I adore Johnny Depp, I had no desire to see "Sweeney Todd" when it was in theaters, and I'm not ashamed to say that. Unlike most gay men, I'm not into musicals, and I certainly had no interest in this one.  All I knew about it was that it was a famous play about a barber and Angela Lansbury was in it before she was in "Murder She Wrote."  That’s just sort of boring to me.

Well, I bit the bullet and watched the movie this weekend on DVD and...it's absolutely awesome.  While it would be nearly impossible to pick Johnny Depp's all-time best performance, his role in "Sweeney" would definitely make the top three.  Depp looks fabulous in this film and yes -- he can sing.  But it's not just Depp that makes “Sweeney" a must-see, it's everything -- the cast, the sets, the costumes and of course, the  music.  And remember -- I hate musicals.

Also -- the special features on the “Sweeney Todd” DVD are the best (and most extensive) I’ve seen since “Magnolia.”

"Smokey Joe's Café: The Songs Of Leiber And Stoller"

Smokey Joe's Cafe If rock and roll is king, then Songwriter Hall of Famers/Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller are the men behind the throne. Perhaps the most pervasive songwriting duo of the last 50 years, they penned countless classics like "Jailhouse Rock," "Hound Dog," "Treat Me Nice," "Stand by Me," "Spanish Harlem," and "On Broadway" for legendary artists like Elvis, Ben E. King, the Drifters and the Coasters.  So with the advent of popular music-based musicals, who better to start with than these songwriting legends in Smokey Joe's Café: The Songs Of  Leiber And Stoller?

"Fosse"

Fosse He was a womanizer, a chain-smoker, and a stressed-out workaholic according to his 1979 semi - autobiographical bio-pic All That Jazz.  So it was no surprise when Bob Fosse succumbed to a heart-attack at age 60, in 1987.

But the director-choreographer is better remembered as one of the most accomplished dance-masters of the 20th century, whose signature jazz dance style oozed a physically-intense yet slightly ironic sexuality and whose performances (and those of his dancers) often included black bowler hats and white gloves, due to his insecurity over his premature baldness and a distaste for his own hands, respectively.
